About the area

English explorers founded the first community in this territory back in the early 1600's. Back in those years the County of Southampton was part of the Warrosquyoake Shire (just try pronouncing that after three beers, or even sober - and you thought Worcestershire was bad), this corresponded to the west portion of the actual Isle of Wight. Five unincorporated communities and six townships constitute the actual 600 square miles of Southampton County.
