Formed from Frederick and Shenandoah lands, this has been a very industrial community since the 19th century when the tobacco economy arrived in this land. The county seat of Front Royal witnessed the construction of the railroad, iron and copper exploitation, leather manufacturing and the opening of a chemical textile plant.
