About the area |
The Simpson door plant is a development of the city's start as a logging camp. McCleary Museum at Carnell House has exhibits displaying the early history of the McCleary area. Beerbower park in downtown McCleary has as its centerpiece a locomotive which dates back to 1905. The McCleary Bear Festival held in July doesn't seem to have anything to do with bears other than the life sized statue of a bear displayed atop City Hall during the festival and the eating of Bear meat stew.
