About the area |
Coupeville is the heart of Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve on Whidbey Island which makes up the majority of the county. Coupeville is a Mecca for artists and as a result attracts many visitors from the island and elsewhere to see there work. In the summer concerts are staged on the Pavilion stage in Coupville Town Park. Here music and dance is performed by artists from all over the world. Coupville was originally home to native Americans who were drawn to the area by the aquatic life in the waters surrounding the area. Later on European settlers played a significant part in establishing the central portion of the island. |
