About the area |
Mercer Island is a relative baby among cities having been officially incorporated in 1960. It's main claim to fame is that it is close to many attractions in Washington state. Luther Burbank Park a 77-acre park located on the Northeast end of Mercer Island provides unodstructed views of Lake Washington. Much of the park has been left undeveloped providing a habitat for a variety of wildlife. But don't worry they have left room for people. There's a large playground, barbecues and picnic tables, tennis courts, a public boat dock, fishing pier, and an amphitheater.
