About the area |
Poulsbo has a population of about 8,800 and is 4.5 square miles in area. It was founded by a Nowegian immigrant. In the early years, a fleet of more than a dozen steamboats carried passengers and freight to and from Poulsbo and delivered farmers' produce to Seattle through Liberty Bay and Puget Sound. Plenty of room for hiking and leisurely strolls in this city; with 3.75 linear miles of trails. There are 14 city parks. One of them Poulsbo Fish Park occupies 21 acres. Being in this park feels like being in the wilderness. A crystal clear salmon steam runs through it. Bird houses are scattered throughout the park, as are natural perches. It seems like a great place to take the kids. |
