About the area |
Shelton sits along Oakland Bay. A must see here is the Squaxin Island Tribe's Museum Library and Research Center. It features exhibits and rare artifacts that tell the story of the people who originally inhabited the area. Another great museum to visit is the Mason County Historical Society museum. The museum started life as a town hall and library. It is on the National Register of Historic Places. For a visit to something from the past you can visit the display of a Shay class locomotive at the Shelton city center. |
