A little over 2500 people live in the city of Okanogan and they are crowded into an area of 1.83 sq. miles. The city lies along the Okanogan river across from the Colville Indian reservation. The residents enjoy a modest per capita personal income. It was the home of a World War II hero, Colonel Gregory "Pappy" Boyington, leader of the Flying Tigers. |
