About the area |
Mukilteo was once known as Point Elliot. The name is a translation of an Indian word. Interpretations of this word run from long goose neck, for the spit of land where the lighthouse stands today, to good camping ground. The Mukilteo Light Station plays an important navigational role with a lens that has a range of 12 nautical miles. The Light Station is preserved by the Mukilteo Historical Society. |
