About the area

A gentleman who desired country living and could pay for it; purchased the original 320 acres which were Woodway. He then insisted on deed restrictions of two-acre minimum parcels with large setbacks to maintain the style of living. In an early display of "Not In My Backyard"; the residents of the area established a fourth class city to keep nearby development out.
