| About the area |
Right now all that be seen is the construction crane towering over downtown Olympia. By 2011 the cities pride, the Olympia's new City Hall will be completed. It will replace Olympia's current City Hall which was completed in 1966 and other buildings housing city services. The first American settlers who claimed the town site in 1846 were drawn to the area by the first access to Puget Sound from the Columbia River. Soon after the first American settlers, Chinese immigrants arrived in the city. Lucky early settlers; they got to eat Dim Sum before the rest of us. |
