About the area |
The Lynden area was settled by miners who had passed through the area en route to the Caribou Gold Rush in 1858. Steamboats moved up and down the nearby Nooksack River and increased traffic on an early road at the Western end of town led to increases in the population. The Northwest Washington Fair is held in Lynden each year. This is followed hard on the heels by the annual Lynden PRCA Rodeo. For a taste of the Northwest it doesn't get any better than this. Six days of fair and two days of rodeo give visitors from all over plenty of time to see it all. |
