About the area |
The name Wapato is derived from a Yakima Indian word for an edible root. Wapato's main industry is farming and ranching. Here's a city who's citizens knew what they were doing. It's first main source of revenue was the licensing of saloons. The Fourth of july is celebrated each year at the Piety Flats Winery and Rattlesnake Hills Wine Trail. The celebration is punctuated by music, a Barbeque diner and fireworks topped off by a glass of your favorite wine from the region. |
