About the area

Sturgeon Bay is between Green Bay and Lake Michigan and was named for the huge sturgeon fish that were here. One thing it is noted for is its cherries and fruit wine. New wineries also make wine from grapes. Most of all it has a great maritime history. From dugout canoes to schooners to war vessels to commercial ships. Now luxury yachts are also made and repaired here.
