About the area

Superior is located at the intersection of US 2 and 53 and is on the shores of Lake Superior. Together with Duluth Minnesota it forms Twin Ports, one of the most important ports of the Great Lakes. It is a sister city to Ami-Machi in Japan. The Dragon Boat Festival held in August is an important fund raiser for various charities. There are 80-100 teams with 22 paddlers, 1 drummer and a Steersperson. For golfers there is the 36-hole Namadji Golf Course. The U of Wisconsin has a superb campus here.
