About the area |
Located on Lake Michigan, the city offers deep water fishing and a Trout Festival in July. It's a great place for golf, biking and hiking. In its early years it was a lumber town and featured saw mills and furniture factories. With the Kewaunee River there is a natural harbor. The USS Pueblo was built and launched here. W42 and W29 are highways in this community. Be sure to tour the Marquette Historic District and the Jail Museum and see what the convicts faced in the 19th century. When you are at the Courthouse, built in 1873 on the highest hill around, you will enjoy the great views of the surrounding area. |
