US 45 and 32 and WI 17 and 70 will bring you to Eagle River. It is known as the "Snowmobile Capital of the World" and the World Champion Snow-Mobile Derby is held here. It is also considered the Best Overall Snowmobile Vacation place. The is where The Great Annual Bicycle Adventure along the Wisconsin River (GRABAAWR), a 500 mile-7 day bike tour begins. Local Resident Jinelle Zaugg-Siergiej will represent the USA Hockey Team in the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver. If you feel like shopping, the local shops offer handmade crafts, quilts, antiques, books, clothes and sweets. Bald eagles are seen here, hence the name Eagle River. |
