About the area

Neenah is named for the Winnebago word for water or running water. It is located on Lake Winnebago and the Neenah Dam is on the Fox River. This was the home of the paper industry and Kimberly Clark Corporation started here in 1872. The Neenah Foundry is where manhole covers are made. Fox River Mall here is the second largest shopping mall in the state. Film Director Howard Hawks lived here.
