| About the area |
The first record of a settllment in the area was around 1769 when a settler built his cabin along Buffalo Creek. Bethany was given its name in the late 1820's with the establishment of a post office. The town is home to Bethany college, an institution which dates back to the middle of the 19th century. This school offers four year degree programs in such major subjects as Accounting, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Music and Political Science. The school also presents courses in Pre-professional studies for Dentistry, Law, Medical practice and the Ministry. |
