What would the Doddridge County Historical museum be without its complete list of sheriffs. After all it was originally the County jail for 50 years and original jail cells are maintained as they were when the jail closed and you can see them. Another building worth seeing if you catch one of the occasional walking tours when it has an open house is the Stuart Mansion circa 1905. The interior is illuminated by several chandeliers and is equipped with several original fireplaces, mantels and stained glass. You might be interested to know that the original lady of the house did the kitchen cabinetry herself.
