About the area |
West Virginia University Institute of Technology and Technical College is located in Montgomery. This school started out as the Montgomery Preparatory School of WVU shortly before the end of the 19th century. It was later separated from WVU and still later became a junior college. Eventually the school reached its present status as a four year college and regional campus of West Virginia University which is separately accredited from the main campus. The Montgomery swimming pool and Montgomery River park are located next to each other. The park has a full-size basketball court, gazebo, picnic tables, jungle gym and swings. |
