About the area |
Open from April through October the Perry Wildlife zoo, a few miles out of town, showcases domestic and exotic animal on close to 8 acres. There are raccoons, camels, pigs, bears, goats and lions as well as many more animals here. Kids will get a kick out of this place since they have an opportunity to feed many of the animals. In July, cars and bikes compete for best in show at the Sunday in the Park festival held in J. Allen Hawkins Memorial park. There is plenty of food here, with chicken, hot dogs and burgers on the BBQ pit and live musical entertainment. Kids activities are also a feature and a health fair is provided. For those who want to swim the city pool is also open.
