About the area |
The first two residents of Ravenswood at the end of the first decade of the 19th century settled on a portion of a tract of land once owned by George Washington. There are many things to do at the city's Riverfront Park which is on the banks of the Ohio river and Sandy Creek. In addition to water sports including boating or picnicking in one of the picnic shelters or at one of the barbeque areas; you can take in the live musical performances and movies at the stage and band shell building. For a visit back in history go to Washington Lands Museum or the Sayre Cabin, a farmstead and log cabin located in the park, where the settlerâs life during the period of 1840 to 1880 has been recreated. |
