About the area

The City of Ripley is the county seat of Jackson County. Located in the Ohio River foothills of the Appalachians, it is surrounded by beauty. In the down and dirty there are the auto races at the I-77 raceway. This 3/8's mile multi-grooved track is the site of a couple of races during the early summer season with the biggies coming on the July 4th holiday, which features a race including the stars of the AMRA Modified division, Semi Lates and the Street Stocks.
