Chapmanville sits way at the top of Logan county. Here's a town that believes in presenting festivals where good food is aplenty. The Town of Chapmanville which had held a fish fry each May at Mullins farm in town for years is now sponsoring a county wide fish fry in cooperation with nearby towns to be held in Chief Logan park. Fishing and food are free to all Logan County residents at this event. Fish caught at the lake in the park, stocked with catfish, are tagged and eligible for monetary prizes from a pot gathered from the participants. Volunteers filet and fry the fish, but there are also hot dogs, chips, non-alcoholic drinks and cake available. Add the live music and you have a great event. September brings a horse or should we say food of a different color at the Applebutter Festival. Apple butter made by residents is for sale as well as other food goodies made from apples. There are other food items available for sale by the vendors in attendance and a car show.
