About the area |
Concord University calls Athens home. This four year college offers the Bachelor's degree in Arts, Science, Science in Business administration and Science in Education by the completion of courses in the school divisions of Business, Education and Human Performance, Fine Arts, Interdisciplinary Studies, Languages and Literature, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences. Each year on the second Sunday in August the town provides the opportunity for the residents to forget their troubles and enjoy each other's company at the three hour long Athens-Concord Town social. There's food, live music and entertainment for the kids. There are also craft vendors and informational displays, childrenâs games and best of all a complimentary picnic lunch and free admission. This also gives the town the opportunity a chance to honor those individuals and local businesses, who have enhanced community and campus life. , will be honored during the festivities. |
