About the area |
Chief Logan of the Mingo tribe seems to still be with the city of Williamson. At least he still lives on in the colorful statue in a water fountain in front of the Tug Valley Chamber of Commerce in the downtown section of town. Chief Logan's revenge for the killing of his family members by American frontiersmen helped spark the 1774 conflict known as Dunmore's War.
