About the area

The annual Ritchie County Fair and Expo is held at the beginning of August Ritchie Ritchie County 4-H Grounds just outside Harrisville. The 4-Wheeler Rodeo is held at Hoover Field. The live music portion of the fair often features as many as four bands and there are other live entertainment acts as well. You can count on the sponsors to bring the best carnival rides and midway attractions to this event. A new feature is the climbing wall with zip line. There are plenty of 4-H, livestock and home economics exhibits with ribbons going to the best in the various categories. Food and commercial Vendors are present so you do have to go hungry or without the purchase of some nice craft item. However the presence of alcohol is not tolerated at this fair.
