About the area |
Just a short distance South of Hinton lies Bluestone State Park a heavily forested, mountainous terrain covering over 2,100 acres. In this park you will find modern cabins, a campground and recreational facilities adjacent to Bluestone Lake. The lake has a special attraction for anglers with bluegill, large and smallmouth bass, hybrid bass, striped bass, crappie and catfish in abundance. Boating and water-skiing are other activities for which the lake is known. The Marina has fishing boats, pontoon boats, paddle boats, rowboats and canoes available for rent. There are facilities for croquet, shuffleboard and horseshoes and the recently renovated swimming pool is a great place to cool off. There are also a number of hiking trails from which panoramic views of Bluestone's picturesque lake and mountainous terrain are possible. |
