Ceredo Municipal Court

US 60 runs through Cerrado and IS 64 lies just to the South.

The Ramsdell House was built around 1858 and is intertwined with the history of Ceredo since it was erected one year after the founding of the community and was the first brick house in the town. Its owner was a boot maker and abolitionist who supported Eli Thayer’s belief in steam power and therefore joined him in the establishment of Ceredo. The interior restoration and furnishings are of the Civil War era and the old post office delivery boxes were to bring back the owner's memory of his service as a postal service agent. There is a museum room in the home with display cases containing various artifacts. The Ceredo-Kenova Railroad museum sits on the site of the old water house on Main street. On display is the largest and best preserved petroglyph in the United States as well as arrow heads, fossils, shells and an Indian grinding stone. Other exhibits are a Civil War collection; pioneer tools, homemaking utensils, quilts, handmade dress and side saddles representative of the area's early history; WWI, WWII and Viet Nam uniforms and accessories; an "N” guage railroad layout of Ceredo and Kenova with trains and trolley from the 1940s era; albums of photos spanning 140 years and a collection of handblown glass dating back half a century.
