Don't Ignore Your Summons

By Alan Dixler

I have noticed an uptick in clients who were caught driving while suspended, not because of  convictions for driving while intoxicated, but for failure to respond to summonses--even parking tickets!  Motorists who have been casualties of this harsh economy, because they have no extra money, might believe that they are better off ignoring their traffic tickets and their parking tickets. That is a terrible strategy--it will get your driving privileges suspended. Plus, you  will have have an additional,  and not insignificant , fine to pay.

If you get a  traffic ticket or a parking ticket  do not ignore it.  If money is tight, a payment plan usually can be worked out.  Show up.
