The best road in Jacksonville, SR 21 runs right through the center of town and meets with Sr 204 in the Northern part of town where Jacksonville State university is located.

This town seems to have something for everybody to enjoy. There is the Community center, the Senior center, the Skateboard park and the Public swimming pool. Seniors can trip the light fantastic every second Friday evening in the month at the Senior center where a dance is held. The community center provides use of its fitness center and walking track for a small yearly fee. The Skateboard park has a diverse mix of jumps, ramps and slides and is open from dusk till dawn. For a nominal fee residents can use the Public swimming pool. bikers and long distance walkers will take great delight in the Chief Ladiga Trail which is a railway converted to trails. For its over 30 miles it has great views of the countryside of Calhoun and Cleburne counties and connects Piedmont, Jacksonville, Weaver and Anniston. Jacksonville State university, located here, offers graduate and undergradute degrees in the Arts & Sciences, Business administration and Education.
