US 43 merged with US 72 is the major road running through the Western part of town and SR 133 runs along the Eastern edge.

This city founded in the early 1920's really believes in keeping things beautiful. It has ordinances for landscaping, signs, high weeds and grass and abandoned or junk vehicles. Gattman Park is unusual in that besides its outdoor facilities; including baseball fields, a t-ball field, a girls softball field, batting cages, an outdoor walking track, picnic tables, playgrounds throughout the park, and an outdoor swimming pool it has two gyms one of which has an indoor walking track with a rubber type floor. Northwest Alabama Regional Airport is located just to the East of Muscle Shoals and has onerunway just under 6700 feet in lenght.
