Jesse Jackson Highway, which runs North-South through the town, meets Jefferson street in the center of town and meets the merged SR 20/Alt. US 72 North of the town.
ABOUT THE AREA
The atmosphere of a Southern town’s heritage is captured in the historic district of Courtland, where there are more than 100 homes, buildings, and sites dating from the early 19th century to the early 20th century. Courtland is a place where one can visit and experience architectural styles spanning nearly 175 years of history. The Old Southern Railroad Depot was in service from the 1830's to the 1980's. During the Civil War the railroad facilities were destroyed. The present structure, rebuilt after the war and now is the town’s community center,
