Wood-Ridge has nearly 7700 residents and is well-served by NJ Transit. A century ago, farming and inn-keeping were the only businesses in this region. Today, things are a lot different. Though the borough is largely residential, it has several industries - one which manufactures surgical instruments, many schools, an excellent public library and shopping centers. The Wood-Ridge Historical Society located at 111 First Street showcases the borough's rich history. The Society believes that the local history is a story of the people who lived in the borough and not just a chronology of events in the past. The Historical Society is a must see upon visit to this borough.
