ABOUT THE AREA
The GumTree Museum of Art and the Tupelo Automobile Museum are two great attractions to visit while in Tupelo. The GumTree Museum of Art presents revolving exhibits and is located in the historic Peoples Bank and Trust Company building; an edifice which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The Tupelo Automobile Museum displays classics such as Packards, Cadillacs, Dusenbergs, a Tucker and one of a kind vehicles and celebrity vehicles. A wonderful place to visit in Tupelo is the Private John Allen National Fish Hatchery. Here large species such as paddlefish, alligator gar, and lake sturgeon are cultured for restoration projects as well as Striped bass produced and stocked as part of a large national restoration effort. In addition thousands of largemouth and bluegill produced and stocked by the hatchery.
