The New Albany Sportsplex and Shady Dell park are two great places for the residents of this town to enjoy the oudoors and to watch sporting events. The New Albany Sportsplex facility covers over 70 acres. It has lighted soccer and football fields, lighted baseball and softball fields, and a batting cage. Expansion is planned for the facility which includes turning more than forty acres will be turned into a complex of international size soccer fields and up to sixteen tennis courts will also be built. The end of JUly beginning of August are the time for the annual Union County Fair and Livestock Show. In the midst of the many animal exhibits and competitions and carnival rides visitors to this fair will find action and excitement at the fair's Championship Rodeo.
