The Okolona Circuit court is the 2nd District Chickasaw County Circuit court and is a court in the Third Circuit District of the Mississippi court system. It is located in the same building as the Okolona Justice court.
ABOUT THE AREA
Completion of the Mobile and Ohio Railroad tracks to Okolona and beyond in the late 1850's gave a large boost to the economy of the community. Ginning cotton was possible with the rairoad moving the cotton to market. Commercial development on Main Street perpendicular to the railroad soon followed. However, prosperity was short lived, cut short by the burning of all commercial buildings and the original depot during the Civil War.
