Often referred to as the 'Beehive of Industry' this town of 15,000 people is a major distributing point to places around. It has excellent rail and bus services to places in and around the town. The town has a fine Police department and an efficient Fire Department. The town also has a Community Center that chalks out a variety of events for the residents all year round. Harrison has an elementary school, a middle school and a high-tech high school replete with a swimming pool, a gym and other educational and recreational facilities. The Seniors Corner founded in 1978 provides free meals to needy senior residents of the town throughout the week. Additionally, there are free bus services for residents above the age of 55.
