ABOUT THE AREA
Gunnison River feeds three reservoirs and the area is called the Curecanti National Recreation Area. There are three dams and it lies in the borders of the Black Canyon. The reservoirs are panoramic, and they are deep and steep and fjord like. In a very recent excavation process in the canyons archeologists found dinosaur fossils.
