ABOUT THE AREA
Walsenburg is quite famous for the mining museum. It was once called the city built on coals. The museum, narrates the story of he coal mines and the miners that lived in the camps in the late 18th century. The miners were incarcerated and they had no other options there. This place is a living history and is one of the places that have been registered with the national register of historic places.
