ABOUT THE AREA
The Trinidad state park is a part of a reservoir and a dam. There are several hiking trails and also a pat of the park is some historic sites like old mines and the ruins of Cokedale. Also a part of the K-T boundary is visible from here. You can also see a portion of Santa Fe Mountains from here. For that you will need to trek for quite a bit. Visiting here means spending a night out in camping. You cannot trek too far and be back to where you have parked your car. Not doing is not worth it either.
