ABOUT THE AREA
For a glimpse into the history of Vicksburg; take a stroll down to Catfish Row Art Park and look at the hand-painted murals depicting the city's history. This park lies along the Yazoo river and is the site of festivals, outdoor exhibits, art and fountains. There are also children activity features, a splash pool and pink poles with various shapes atop them are throughout the park. The postbellum mansion,Belle of the Bends was built in the 1870's and is now a Bed and Breakfast. This beautiful Italianate style mansion sits atop a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River. The structure is named for a famous paddlewheel steamship and still displays many of the
original antiques.
