SR 316, running through the heart of Jonestown, is the way to get to US 49/US 61 to the West.

This town, near Swan lake, is suffering the throes of the recession. Median household income is significantly below the poverty level. The town once enjoyed the benefits of a agrarian-dominated industry, but the increase in mechanization has led to a decrease of employment despite an increase in population. Most of the residents of Jonestown have been unable to take advantage of employment in nearby communities due to their lack of training in specialized fields or their inability to commute to other cities due to the lack of available transportation. Teen pregnancy, youth gangs, drug abuse, illiteracy, chronic unemployment, and lack of community focus have been on the increase. J
