Hattiesburg is one of the largest cities in the state and has over 53,000 residents. Hattiesburg each year hosts the Mississippi Miss Hospitality Pageant. The winner of the title, at this pageant, is chosen from young ladies ages 18 and 24, representing various Mississippi counties and towns, who in addition to other competition qualities must demonstrate an ability to promote Mississippi’s tourism.
