As SR 43 makes its Northward leg of a zig-zag through New Hebron, it is met by SR 42.
ABOUT THE AREA
Soon after a branch of the Gulf and Ship Island Railroad was built near Grange, Missisippi; a merchant in Hebron
offered land for a right of way for a distance of two miles if the railroad would locate a depot on his property. When the railroad accepted; station was built on the property and named New Hebron. To be near the new station, thriving stores and businesses moved from Hebron to New Hebron. Many people say that New Hebron was really founded when the first train pulled into the station. Soon a a new town was laid out with a main avenue and wide side streets.
