Marion Knipe

Downe is loved by one and all - be it it's residents, visitors or tourist. This town of 1700 people is largely rural, a sharp contrast to it's neighboring cities and towns. The township is inundated with vast stretches of farmlands and open spaces. That put together with it's proximity to the sea, makes Downe very unique from it's neighbors. There are several Wildlife Management Centers in the township that have facilities for hiking, bird-watching etc. Gandy's beach along the Delaware Bay is a popular tourist attraction. The scenic Shaw Mills Pond which can be seen from the Municipal Court Complex always has a beeline of visitors.
