ABOUT THE AREA
The annual Battle on the Bayou on Biloxi Bay is an exciting time for the residents of Ocean Springs. Proceeds from this race of kayaks and canoes benefit the conservation efforts of the Land Trust for the Mississippi Coastal Plain. The race starts with a bang from the Civil War era cannons and excitement builds as the paddlers round the bend in Old Fort Bayou near the Washington Avenue bridge on the 9.5 mile path toward The Shed Barbecue and Blues Joint.
