ABOUT THE AREA
The borough got it's name from being the 'glass factory' capital in the state.The earliest glass factory in the borough is more than 200 years old. Rowan University which serves nearly 10,000 students is located in Glassboro and is about 6 miles away from the Municipal Court. The University was called New Jersey Normal School when it was founded in 1923, but now it goes by the name of Rowan University. Rowan Blvd is being redesigned to be the major thoroughfare in the borough.
