Would they celebrate ranchers who participate in the annual range management practice of burning the prairie in your town? But they sure do in Cottonwood Falls. They do this in tribute to the ranchers of the Flint Hills of Kansas at the annual weeklong Prairie Fire Festival. Visitors to the Flint Hills Region are invited during the festival to witness what the ranchers do. The fires can be observed from a few observation points which have been provided for safe viewing.
